FREE DOWNLOAD LAPTOP | Take a wild guess at what a game called "Alien Shooter" entails. You're right! In Alien Shooter, you shoot at aliens. The game takes place from an isometric perspective, and you control a man or a woman with the task of running around a variety of facilities, turning on the power, and blasting aliens with a handful of different weapons. You run around with the keyboard, and the mouse is used to aim and fire. Generally speaking, it works pretty well; but all in all, the game feels like a clunky take on the same aim-and-fire mechanics used in Crimsonland. Also, enemies and power-ups can often hide themselves up against walls due to the game's isometric view of the action. While the game does have some depth to it--you can purchase additional weapons--the action is generally unsatisfying, though the way that all the corridors get smeared with alien corpses and blood after a prolonged firefight at least looks nice.

FREE DOWNLOAD LAPTOP | De Blob is gemaakt door 8 studenten Game Design & Development aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht en 1 student Informatica aan de Universiteit Utrecht, in opdracht van het informatiecentrum over het Utrechtse stationsgebied. Tijdens de komende 15 jaar gaat het stationsgebied (o.a. het station, de Jaarbeurs en Hoog Catherijne) compleet omgebouwd worden. Sommige wegen worden grachten, er komt een nieuw station, een bioscoop, een casino en zo nog van alles. Om iedereen te informeren over hoe het er uit gaat zien, hadden wij de opdracht gekregen om een game te maken die zich afspeelt in het nieuwe stationsgebied en het tot leven wekt.
Dat is dus De Blob geworden, een game waarin je als verfbal door het toekomstige Utrecht rolt. Je kunt verfmannetjes absorberen om kleuren te mengen en de stad daarmee verven. Vrijwel alles is verfbaar: gebouwen, auto's, bomen en met het verfspoor dat je achterlaat ook de grond. De gameplay is een aantal dingen: je kunt gewoon de stad gaan verven, je kunt proberen de puzzels voor de 17 hoofdgebouwen door te komen om die te verven of je kunt proberen alle 50 muntjes die verstopt zijn in de stad te verzamelen.
De game is in eerste instantie bedoeld om in een infocentrum te draaien, dus voor mensen die geen echte gamers zijn en die eventjes vijf minuten spelen voor ze weer verder lopen. Om ook de echte gamers te behagen zitten de muntjes in de game, want die zijn flink lastig om allemaal te vinden en te pakken te krijgen. De besturing is het vetst met een goede trackbal, maar met de muis is de game ook prima te spelen.
